The Linux and UNIX Networking Core Exam is designed with one goal in mind: to help you gain knowledge of UNIX commands and concepts that constitute the core experience of a well-trained Linux and UNIX user. It is one of the most important UNIX Academy exams, and it teaches (and tests) subjects that are central to one's ability to make educated network-related decisions. This certification establishes a firm groundwork from which you can continue to develop your skills as a Linux/UNIX System Administrator. The training for this exam is available as the second part of the "Learn Linux Networking" and "Learn Linux Complete" sets.
?This exam requires a passing score of 80% and can be taken up to three times during a 30-day period. The objective of the test is to help you become familiar with a variety of core Linux/UNIX concepts, most important communication models, TCP/IP suite, network services, network-related commands and more. We recommend (but do not require) that this exam be taken after the "Linux and UNIX Core" exam. This course establishes a firm groundwork for you to start Linux/UNIX System Administration training.
?The intention of this test, as with all UNIX Academy exams, is to teach and direct you toward a better understanding of Linux/UNIX systems.?
If you have been well trained, passing this test should not be difficult. If you are a beginner, however, it will require that you understand the core concepts and develop important skills. Again, the goal is to teach you, not to fail you. After passing the test, you may claim that you have a good understanding of Linux/UNIX networking. This exam is used for evaluating general, professional Linux/UNIX skills. The Certificate will be mailed to you within ten business days.?
